How we handle garage door repair
Most garage door problems are mechanical and fixable in one trip: a worn roller, a bent track, a cracked hinge, a cable that's fraying, or an opener that's straining because the door is out of balance.
We start by pulling the opener off and lifting the door by hand. A balanced door stays put at waist height. If it slams down or flies up, the springs are wrong, and that has to be fixed before anything else or the opener will keep failing.
Then we go part by part — rollers, hinges, tracks, cables, bottom brackets, weather seal — and give you a price for what actually needs replacing. Before we leave we lubricate, adjust the limits and test the safety reverse.

Common Charleston Repairs
Rust is the big one here. Rollers seize, hinges corrode and bottom brackets rot through, especially within a few miles of salt water. We replace rusted parts with galvanized or nylon parts that last longer.
Bottom seals dry-rot in the heat and let water and bugs in. A new seal and retainer fix that.
Older homes in West Ashley and North Charleston often have doors that were never balanced right. Balancing them saves the opener.

- Garage Door Rollers, Hinges & Quiet Tune-Up —
What moves the price
- Single-car (8–9 ft) vs. two-car (16 ft) door width and dead weight (insulated or wind-strutted doors need heavier springs)
- Single vs. dual torsion spring setup — replacing both springs on a two-spring shaft keeps the door balanced and saves a second trip
- Hardware grade — standard galvanized steel vs. coastal rust-resistant cables, brackets, and sealed nylon ball-bearing rollers
- Opener drive type — repairing a logic board or gear kit vs. installing a new belt-drive or wall-mount jackshaft opener with battery backup
- For full door replacements: insulation rating (R-value), 150-mph wind-load reinforcement, city/county permit fees, and historic district or HOA style rules

What you can expect from us
A garage door is the heaviest moving part of your house — if the spring balance or cable tension is off, the opener and tracks pay the price.
We size springs to your door's actual weight, use corrosion-resistant hardware built for local weather, and test the door until it lifts smoothly with one hand.
If something doesn't sound or move right when we're done, test it with us before we pull out of the driveway.
